Even the Vespa PX, the most classic of scooters, sometimes needs a little more panache. And on a classic two-stroke engine, the most obvious and simple of modifications that can be made is the addition of an expansion muffler. So here the Malossi engineers have designed from scratch an exhaust system specifically designed for the dear old Vespa PX, with the aim of making it immediately more performant and enjoyable without, however, going to distort the timeless line of the Piaggio scooter.

It looks like the most classic of "pans," but all the new features and improvements are hidden under the skin. In order to get the best out of this expansion and to allow it to be fitted to all Vespas, the new manifold is designed to fit all the thermic units currently on the market for this Vespa, from the original cylinder to the highest-performance in the Malossi range.

It is precisely the manifold, with its shape, that best connects the flow of exhaust gases from the cylinder to the muffler body, thus guaranteeing a significant increase in performance. The muffler body, with its characteristic expansion shape, has been specially designed to ensure maximum performance combined with roundness of operation. From idle to maximum rpm, the exhaust gas intake effect generated by this component is maximized.

Finally, we have the classic pan. This component was designed with the specific purpose of being identical to the original so as to be completely unobtrusive. Inside, however, two chambers separated by a bulkhead have been created in order to maximize the proper expansion of exhaust gases while minimizing muffler noise.
